The Miracle of Breast Milk Panel Successfully Held
The panel titled “The Miracle of Breast Milk,” organized in collaboration with Istanbul Aydın University and the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV), was held on February 16, 2026, at the Purple Hall of the T Block Social Sciences Campus of Istanbul Aydın University, with strong participation.
During the panel, the effects of breast milk on infant health were discussed from a scientific and multidisciplinary perspective. Expert academics and healthcare professionals shared their knowledge and experience with participants. Within the scope of the program, the biological structure of breast milk, its effects on the immune system, its relationship with gut flora, and its importance in the parenting process were evaluated through different disciplinary approaches.
The panel was chaired by Dr. Arzu Dinç Yavaş, Faculty Member at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Istanbul Aydın University. The program featured presentations by Pharmacist Asuman Çakıroğlu from the Active Pharmacy Association on “Miracle Molecules of the Body and the Pharmacist’s Approach in the Parenting Journey,” Pharmacist Burcu Onay on “Your Baby’s Health Lies in Your Milk,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasret Ayyıldız Civan from the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Aydın University on “The Most Functional Food Known: Breast Milk,” and Research Assistant Dr. İbrahim Alper Kaya from the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul Medeniyet University on “The Effects of Exosomal MicroRNAs in Breast Milk on Gut Flora.”
Bringing together scientific knowledge and social awareness, the panel emphasized that breast milk is not only a source of nutrition but also a fundamental preventive health factor in raising healthy generations. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and knowledge sharing among participants.
