THE GREEN HOMELAND PLATFORM AND IAU PLANT SAPLİNGS ON NATİONAL REFORESTATİON DAY
The Green Homeland Platform, in collaboration with AKEV (Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation) and Istanbul Aydın University (IAU), organized a tree planting event in the Ihsaniye region. The event brought together disabled individuals from the Bagcilar Municipality Feyzullah Kiyiklik Disabled Palace and students from the IAU Eco-recreation Club, pairing them to plant trees.
National Reforestation Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of protecting and sustainably managing our forests and making our country healthier and more livable for future generations by planting trees. Turkey is truly a paradise on Earth with its forests, green areas, natural parks, valleys, canyons, rivers, waterfalls, and recreational areas. We are committed to preserving this earthly paradise and working hard to pass it on to the future generations in the best possible condition.
The Green Homeland Platform, AKEV, Istanbul Aydın University (IAU), and the IAU Eco-recreation Club joined forces with a sense of national awareness, embracing a sense of national mobilization. Inspired by the words of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, “A country without forests is not a homeland,” we continue to connect more and more trees with our homeland soil with the goal of leaving a green legacy for the future.
On National Reforestation Day, disabled individuals from the Bagcilar Municipality Feyzullah Kiyiklik Disabled Palace were paired with students from the IAU Eco-recreation Club using the “body system,” and they planted trees in a location specified by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Forestry in the Ihsaniye region.
We hope that the trees planted on National Reforestation Day will contribute to a greener Turkey and a greener Istanbul.
