THE BORDERS EDUCATION PROJECT: IMPLEMENTATION WITH EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS

The Boundaries Education Project, prepared in cooperation with the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydın University, aims to provide primary school children with various skills. These skills include recognizing emotions, developing self-esteem, learning personal rights, recognizing private parts, saying no, distinguishing between good and bad touches, self-protection and awareness of asking for help. The program includes activities aimed at developing children’s ability to cooperate with each other, act with confidence and problem-solving skills.

A training program for the trainers of this project was offered to classroom teachers and guidance counselors working at Ömer Gültekin Yavuz Selim Primary School. The trainers were supported by a booklet prepared by Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydın University. These activities were implemented with the students for 4 months and each module was submitted for teacher evaluation. An academic study is being prepared in line with the findings.
