Science in the Reconstruction of Gaza: War Trauma and Post-Traumatic Growth to Be Discussed

Istanbul Aydın University (IAU), Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV), the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the Sustainability Coordination Office will jointly organize an event titled “Science in the Reconstruction of Gaza.”

The event will address the psychological impacts of war and conflict on individuals and communities, with a particular focus on war trauma, coping with trauma, and post-traumatic growth from a scientific perspective.

The event will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şahide Güliz Kolburan on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Office T52, T Block, Istanbul Aydın University Florya Campus.

The event aims to highlight the importance of psychological recovery, resilience, and well-being in the reconstruction processes of post-war societies, while exploring the role of science in promoting social healing and building a sustainable future.
