WOMEN AND VOLUNTEERING SUMMIT
On March 6, 2025, the Women and Volunteering Summit was held at Istanbul Aydın University in cooperation with the Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV) and Istanbul Aydın University Sustainability Coordination Department with the participation of experts in their fields. The event offered an inspiring experience to the participants with three important panels emphasizing the role of women in volunteering activities.
The summit was organized by Istanbul Aydın University academician and TV programmer Lecturer. Assist. Inci Ertugrul started with her presentation. Ayşe Kırımlı gave the first remarks of the summit by sharing her experiences in the field of volunteering. In the first panel moderated by Nur Ger (Founding President of Y yanındadayız Association), the effects of volunteering in different fields were discussed. Açelya Akkoyun, Eda Ciğerim (Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey – Learning Unit Manager) and Afet Gülen Bübecir (Lawyer) shared their experiences in the panel. The second panel of the summit was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nurten Özdemir (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy). Ms. Nazlıhan Balkan (Child Data Protection Platform – Founding President), Ms. Hayriye Karataş (Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey – Volunteer) and Ms. Türkan Alper (Turkish Benevolent Association – Bakırköy Branch President) shared their valuable knowledge on strengthening the awareness of social responsibility. In the last panel of the event, Assist. Assist. Prof. İnci Ertuğrul moderated by Ayten Çalış Kurtçu (Communication Expert – Author), Havva Anne, Yasemin Kısa and Cansu Kukul shared their valuable knowledge on volunteerism.
