1st Interdisciplinary Special Education Congress

Held in Istanbul between December 6-8, 2024, the 1st Interdisciplinary Special Education Congress was hosted by Istanbul Aydın University’s Center for Accessible Life Practices and Research and the Anatolian Culture and Education Foundation (AKEV). The congress became a significant meeting point for special education at both national and international levels.

The event featured 104 oral presentations, 2 poster presentations, 25 online presentations, 2 art exhibitions, and 12 workshops, offering a rich program. With approximately 700 participants, the congress attracted not only attendees from Turkey but also academics, researchers, and professionals from South Korea, Greece, Malaysia, the USA, Romania, Japan, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, further enriching the discussions.

With contributions from leading speakers and experts from various disciplines, the congress provided a platform for discussions on new approaches, practices, and scientific research in special education. Additionally, the art exhibitions and workshops held throughout the congress enhanced the experience by offering participants not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on learning opportunities.
