ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOP
The Sustainable Economy Conference was held on May 26, 2022, with the theme “Economic Models in the Context of Economic Policies and Development Plans in Turkey,” and it was a great success with high-level participation.
The conference offered a fresh perspective on our country’s economy, economic models, development plans, and economic policies, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in terms of Turkey’s macroeconomic and financial balances. It also explored the dynamics of Turkey in terms of sustainable finance and global competitiveness. This enlightening event took place at Istanbul Aydin University, featuring both the conference and a panel discussion where various aspects of the related topics were discussed with the participation of senior representatives from institutions and academics.
The conference featured the presentation and evaluation of papers in the field of “Economic and Financial Sustainability.” Furthermore, the second session of the conference included a panel discussion, where relevant subjects were addressed successfully with the participation of senior representatives from institutions and academics. The event was also broadcast on two separate TV channels with three live broadcasts, reaching the wider public.
During the conference, “Contributions to Sustainable Economy Awards” were presented to three institutions and three academics who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. In the institutional category, these awards were bestowed upon the following entities: the Strategy Development Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the Ministry of Treasury and Finance’s Directorate General for Economic Programs and Research, and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK) within the Ministry of Trade. In the academic category, the awards were conferred upon Prof. Dr. Cumhur Ferman (Rector of Beykent University), Prof. Dr. Zekai Özdemir (Faculty of Economics, Istanbul University), and Prof. Dr. Zeynep Karaçor (Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Selçuk University).
Overall, the conference provided a unique platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge related to economic sustainability and underscored its critical importance in Turkey’s financial and economic landscape.
