DOING SCIENCE IN NATURE! – PART 2

As part of the TUBITAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program, a project titled “Doing Science in Nature! – Part 2” is set to take place next week. The project is spearheaded by Istanbul Aydin University’s Research Assistant Zeynep TURK, with the cooperation of the Elazig Provincial Directorate of National Education, Elazig Provincial Administration, Elazig Science Center, contributions from AKEV, and support from Nestle. This initiative is designed for 50 earthquake-affected students aged 10-12 years whose homes were severely damaged after the Elazig earthquake, and who have not previously participated in TUBITAK projects.

The project, “Doing Science in Nature! – Part 2,” will run from June 19 to June 25, 2022, and will take place at the Elazig Science Center and a campsite located by Lake Hazar. It will be conducted under the guidance of a psychological counselor and is aimed at providing students with the opportunity to easily retain scientific knowledge. This project will enhance their inquiry skills in various areas such as STEM, ecology, astronomy, art, sports, games, physical activities, and music. It will also include scientific studies, earthquake awareness games, and interactive activities that focus on observing nature.

This initiative is an excellent opportunity for these young learners to connect with science, the environment, and their surroundings in a fun and educational way, and it aims to contribute to their overall well-being.
