MUSTAFA AYDIN

Born in 1956 in Trabzon, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın completed his primary, middle, and high school education in Trabzon. After completing his undergraduate education at Cairo University and Ankara University, he focused on academic studies in Arabic Language and Literature.
 
Starting his career in the Turkish Armed Forces in 1975, Aydın served in various domestic and international positions. In 1995, he began his academic career at Istanbul University. Later, he established BİL Holding, overseeing 14 organizations, and launched BİL Educational Institutions, which now operates with 150 schools. He still serves as the chairman of the board of directors of these organizations.
 
In 2003, Aydın laid the foundations of Istanbul Aydin University, which currently has over 40,000 students, 35 research centers, 2 think tanks, 2 UNESCO Chairs, and 18 faculties. He subsequently established IAÜ Incubation Centers in Cyprus, the UK, Baku, Tehran, Beijing, Chicago, and Silicon Valley, San Francisco.
 
Aydın introduced the concept of education diplomacy to Turkey and played a leading role in establishing the ‘Study in Turkey’ brand in 2010. He brought a new vision to Turkish higher education with the ‘Hybrid Model Higher Education System,’ recognized by the European University Association (EUA) as an exemplary model for the next generation of education.
 
He has been awarded four honorary doctorates and the “State Order” by the Republic of Moldova. Aydın, who has received numerous national and international awards, was honored with the “Best in the Islamic World – Educator of the Year Award” and the “Future Educator Award” in recent years. Fluent in two foreign languages and the author of 13 works, Aydın’s writings have been published in various newspapers, magazines, and other publications.
 
Aydın holds various roles and presidencies in numerous national and international civil society organizations, including Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV), Turkey’s Anti-Smoking Association (TSSD), Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURIE), Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), UFRAD Franchise Association, Küçükçekmece City Council, COPPEM (European Committee of Local Authorities for the Development of Migrations), World Franchise Council (WFC), Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC), European Franchise Federation (EFF), and Romania Franchise Association (RFA). Alongside these responsibilities, he continues his work in higher education. Aydın is married and a father of three.
 
Elif AYDIN was born in Bursa in 1977. She completed her secondary and high school education at Yunus Emre College in Istanbul. After her high school education, she started her education at Atatürk University, Department of Chemical Engineering. She worked as a volunteer in many social organizations at the university. After graduation, she worked at Bil Holding. Elif AYDIN, who took part in many social responsibility projects under the roof of the organization, is married and has 3 children.
 
Halit Fatih Aydın was born in Erzurum in 1979. After graduating from Beşiktaş Anatolian High School, he graduated from Atatürk University, Department of Civil Engineering. After graduation, Halit Fatih Aydın started working at BİL Holding and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Istanbul Aydın University. He is married and has two children.
 
Fatma Nur Aydın was born in Istanbul in 1998. Fatma Nur Aydın graduated from Üsküdar American High School, graduated from University of California Berkeley and is involved in many social responsibility projects.
Selim Emre AR was born in Istanbul in 1984. After completing his primary and secondary education in Trabzon, Selim Emre AR graduated from Karadeniz Technical University with a bachelor’s degree in 2008.
During his student years, he took part in national and international non-governmental organizations and worked as a volunteer in the project. Many of his articles were published in newspapers and magazines. After his graduation, he started working in the field of education. He worked as a manager in educational institutions.

In 2013, “Turkey’s first Football Library” was opened with JOGANITA Idea and Football Association, of which he was one of the founders. Between 2016 and 2018, he was a member of the Trabzonspor Basketball Club board of directors and continues his volunteer work in many active non-governmental organizations. Selim Emre Ar, who continues his master’s degree, is married and has two children.
