SUPPORT TO EARTHQUAKE ZONE: MATHEMATICAL AND EDUCATIONAL FESTIVAL

Istanbul Aydin University with Primary Mathematics Education and Fashion Design Department students organized a two-week Mathematics Festival for children in earthquake at IAU Scrap Education and Life Campus with the support of Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation.

This festival is designed to help children learn math in a fun and interactive way. Throughout the activities, problem-solving skills, analytical thinking abilities and aptitude for teamwork were supported by using game-based learning methods. Under the festival, children, Fractional Race, Find See, Fractional Adventure, How Much Pizza I Eat – How Much Sugar, Sort Me, Fractional Collecting Bingo, Decimal Boxes, Match Look, Balanced Matchmaking, Decimal Counts Domino, Decimal Tower, Math Composition, Math Counting Game

In addition, workshops such as mathematics competitions, sudoku studies, origami studies, puzzle and lego studies and password finding games were organized in the festival. Thanks to these activities, children both had the opportunity to develop their mathematical thinking skills and experienced learning by having fun.
