BORDER EDUCATION PROJECT: IMPLEMENTATION WITH EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS
The Border Education Project, prepared in collaboration with the Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydin University, aims to equip primary school-age children with various skills. These skills include recognizing emotions, developing self-esteem, learning personal rights, identifying personal boundaries, saying no, distinguishing between good and bad touches, and cultivating a sense of self-protection and the ability to seek help. The program includes activities to enhance children’s abilities to collaborate, act with confidence, and solve problems.
A training program for classroom and guidance teachers working at Ömer Gültekin Yavuz Selim Primary School was provided as part of this project. Educators were supported with a booklet prepared by the Anatolian Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydin University. These activities were implemented with students over a period of 4 months, and each module was subject to teacher evaluation. Academic research is being prepared based on the findings obtained.
