IAU Model COP31 Conference 2026 Brings Young People Together for Climate Action

The Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV) continues to support initiatives that raise young people’s awareness of global climate challenges, encourage solution-oriented thinking, and promote their active role in building a sustainable future.

Organized with the contributions of Istanbul Aydın University, AKEV, and partner institutions, the IAU Model COP31 Conference 2026 will bring together high school and university students around the global climate agenda.

Taking place at Istanbul Aydın University on October 24–25, 2026, the conference will address globally significant topics such as carbon emission targets, green finance, environmental management, and combating climate change.

Held in a Model COP format, the event will provide participants with the opportunity to experience the functioning of United Nations climate conferences, evaluate different perspectives, engage in negotiations, and develop solution-oriented proposals. Participants will also gain experience in climate diplomacy and international cooperation.

Highlighting that young people are not only the leaders of the future but also important actors in addressing climate change today, the IAU Model COP31 Conference 2026 will provide young participants with an international platform to express their ideas and perspectives.

In addition to its work in the fields of education and culture, AKEV continues to contribute to projects that promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and the active participation of young people in addressing social challenges.

Through the IAU Model COP31 Conference 2026, the event aims to strengthen young people’s knowledge, awareness, and leadership skills, while fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to climate change.
