“Little Sunflower” Stop Motion Film Screening Was Held
Istanbul Aydın University, Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation and Anadolu Bil Vocational School collaboratively organized the “Little Sunflower” stop motion film screening on May 15, 2026, at the T Block Purple Hall of Istanbul Aydın University.
The project, prepared with contributions from students of the Computer-Aided Design and Animation Program, Architectural Restoration Program, and Graphic Design Program, brought together themes of diversity, friendship, solidarity, and coexistence through a creative storytelling approach. Presented under the subtitle “The Story of a Sunflower,” the stop motion production attracted significant attention from participants with its emotional story set in a sunflower field.
The film focused on a little sunflower who is excluded for being different from the others and explored themes of friendship, empathy, and acceptance through its relationships with scarecrows, crows, and other living creatures. Throughout the story, audiences were given the message that differences are not divisive, but rather a unifying force.
Prepared with the motto “Differences Create Deep Friendships,” the screening aimed to raise social awareness through art and animation and received great appreciation from the audience at the end of the event.
