March 8 and Women” Program Held

The “March 8 and Women” program, organized in collaboration with the Women’s Studies Coordination Office of Istanbul Aydın University and the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation (AKEV), was held at Istanbul Aydın University as part of the International Women’s Day events on March 8.

The program brought together academics, students, and guests to discuss the role of women in social life, the challenges they face, and the processes of women’s empowerment. During the event, opportunities and challenges faced by women in education, professional life, and social participation were evaluated from different perspectives.

Speakers emphasized the importance of increasing women’s visibility in all areas of social life, strengthening equal access to opportunities, and enhancing women’s roles in decision-making processes. Participants also highlighted the critical importance of women in social development and sustainable progress.

At the end of the program, participants underlined that International Women’s Day on March 8 is not only a day of commemoration but also an important platform for raising social awareness and strengthening women’s rights.

The program, organized through the collaboration of Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydın University, aimed to raise awareness about empowering women and supporting their more active participation in social life.
