2024 Academic Program for Children with Special Needs
The academic program for children with special needs, organized annually by Istanbul Aydın University and the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation, has been launched for 2024. This project is designed to run three days a week over four weeks, targeting children aged 9-12 with Down syndrome.
The program features:
- Movement Education by the Faculty of Education,
- Design Workshops by the Faculty of Architecture,
- Gastronomy Training by the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Alongside the children’s education, parallel sessions are offered to parents by academic staff on various topics. These sessions aim to enhance parents’ ability to better support their children’s development.
Academic Support Program for Children with Special Needs Successfully Completed
The academic program for children with special needs, organized in collaboration with the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation and Istanbul Aydın University, has been successfully completed after four weeks of intensive education, held three days a week. As part of the program, children received movement education, design workshops, and gastronomy training under the guidance of volunteer academics and university student mentors.
The training sessions were conducted in groups to support the development of children aged 9-12. Simultaneously, the parents of these children were also included in the process through special training provided by academics.
At the end of the month-long program, a graduation ceremony was held for the children with special needs. During the ceremony, the children wore graduation gowns and received their certificates.
